Leonid Rath
CEO and owner, J.&L. Lobmeyr, Wien (A)
Leonid Rath (*1971) studied materials engineering and business studies. Together with his cousins Andreas and Johannes Rath he is the owner of the Lobmeyr business and has been managing director since 2002. Lobmeyr is a famous glass manufacturer based in Vienna that is in family ownership since it was established in 1823. Designers such as Josef Hoffmann, Adolf Loos, Oswald Haerdtl and today Ted Mühling have produced designs for Lobmeyr. The interest of the present generation of owners in contemporary design is also indicated by their collaboration with young Austrian designers such as Polka, Lucy.D or bkm. Leonid Rath is responsible for the development, production and international marketing of the glass label Lobmeyr. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of the MAK Art Society, and of the Advisory Board of the Forum Mozartplatz.
